Livingston Street - Porches

I was born to do projects like this… a beautiful, Victorian house, a customer with vision, and rotting porches to be replaced. On the front porch, I stripped it to its structure; augmented the joists; had four cedar posts turned on a lathe by a talented friend; installed cedar t&g flooring; fabricated and installed new rails, stairs, lattice panels and trim; and primed and painted. On the side porch, I stripped it to its structure; augmented the joists, fabricated and installed posts, rails, and stairs; and primed and painted. On the back porch, I stripped the decking to its structure; augmented joists; installed new decking, trim, and stairs; and primed and painted (the decision was made to not replace the rails at this time). I also replaced approximately 30′ of drip edge and siding where necessary. In addition, I replaced 12′ of rotted rim joist which was damaged from sitting on the sandstone foundation for a hundred years.
