I’m back. Pardon the sawdust…

I provide historically accurate, conscientious, and honest woodworking as well as: remodeling, repairs, and restoration – with an artist’s eye, a craftsman’s deft touch, and a modicum of humor. I am located in Madison, Wisconsin. Over the past 40+ years, I have been a carpenter, providing fine carpentry labor all over southwest Wisconsin and Chicago. I am the Old House Whisperer.

My best work is matching historically accurate trim, and built-ins. And I will pay the same caring attention when rebuilding your basement stairs or replacing doors as when I rebuild your front porch.

Unlike many carpenters, I will be present and working on your project every day. I have always been a working carpenter, present and working every day of every project. Except for very special occurrences, I rarely had more than one project going at once so I could control the quality of the finished project. There will not be communication problems with the crew or the person nominally in charge. I will be there. I care passionately about what the finished project looks like.
